What's the difference between cold storage and hybrid storage?

Cold storage is immediate-access online archive storage for large libraries and long-term retention. Hybrid storage adds NVMe-backed hot access for active files, frequent browsing, collaboration, and heavier repeated use.

Why is the 1 TB free plan cold storage?

Cold storage has lower operating costs, which lets us offer larger capacity without tradeoffs on security. Files remain available for direct downloads and media streaming; hybrid adds NVMe-backed speed for active workflows.

Which free plans require payment information?

Scout includes 25 GB with no card. Add a payment method to receive +5 GB while keeping Scout, or use it to unlock the verified-free 50 GB Hybrid or 1 TB Cold plan. We charge only when you explicitly select a paid plan.

Can I upgrade later without moving files?

Yes. Upgrades keep your files in place and adjust storage class and capacity in your account.
