What's the difference between cold storage and hybrid storage?

Both support everyday online access. Cold storage keeps files online for direct downloads, sharing, and supported media streaming without an archive-restore request. Hybrid adds an NVMe-backed hot cache that can accelerate eligible file access, including repeated reads.

Can I use cold storage every day?

Yes. You can regularly access, download, share, and stream supported media from cold storage. Your files stay online without an archive-restore request. Hybrid adds a hot cache; both storage options support everyday use.

Why is the 1 TB free plan cold storage?

The cold tier keeps files online without an additional hot cache, which helps us offer larger capacity at a lower operating cost. You can use it for everyday access as well as long-term keeping. All plans use the same core security controls.

Which free plans require payment information?

Scout includes 25 GB with no card. Add a payment method to receive +5 GB while keeping Scout, or use it to unlock the verified-free 50 GB Hybrid or 1 TB online storage (Cold) plan. We charge only when you explicitly select a paid plan.

Can I upgrade later without moving files?

Yes. Upgrades keep your files in place and adjust storage class and capacity in your account.
