LockItVault ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including through our application-to-person (A2P) messaging services via 10-digit long codes (10DLC). Please read this privacy policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via our messaging services includes:
1.1 Personal Data: Personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you voluntarily provide to us.
1.2 Transactional Data: Information about the messages we send and receive, including message content, timestamps, and metadata.
1.3 Technical Data: Device information such as your mobile device ID, IP address, operating system, browser type, and usage data.
1.4 User Content and Metadata: We collect and store the files you upload and related metadata such as file names, sizes, folder structure, checksums, sharing settings, access logs, device identifiers, and IP addresses, as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service.
2. Use of Your Information
2.1 To provide and manage our services: Including sending you messages for authentication, security alerts, and other related notifications.
2.2 To communicate with you: Responding to your inquiries, providing customer support, and sending updates and promotional materials.
2.3 To improve our services: Analyzing usage patterns to enhance our offerings and user experience.
2.4 To comply with legal obligations: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
2.5 Safety, abuse prevention, and compliance: We may process information and content to detect abuse, investigate reports, protect the platform and users, and comply with legal obligations.
2.6 Data retention: We retain content and account records for as long as needed to provide the service or to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
3.1 With service providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf.
3.2 For legal purposes: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

3.4 Legal and safety disclosures: We may disclose information, including content and logs, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of LockItVault, our users, or the public.
4. Biometric Data (Face Login)
If you opt in to Face Login, we process facial images or biometric identifiers to create and use a face template for authentication and account security. We retain this data while Face Login is enabled and delete it after you disable it or close your account, unless retention is required by law.
Photo recognition is a separate, optional feature. If you explicitly enable it, we create a separate facial template to identify and automatically tag you in photos within your own LockItVault account. It does not search other users' vaults. You may choose whether to scan existing photos, disable the feature later, and remove automatically generated self-tags while preserving manual tags.
5. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
6.1 Access: You may request access to the information we have about you.
6.2 Correction: You may request that we correct or update any inaccurate information.
6.3 Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
6.4 Opt-Out: You may opt-out of receiving promotional messages from us by following the instructions in those messages or contacting us directly.
7. Children's Policy
Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a user under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of this policy, and in some cases, we may provide additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our practices.

10. Paid-folder purchases and creator sales
We process verified buyer identity, creator and payment-account references, transaction and tax metadata, accepted offer versions, subscriptions, paid-through dates, exact consent wording and document versions including Electronic Delivery Terms and the verified-email notice choice, access logs and usage, refunds, disputes, and support records to administer purchases, secure access, prevent duplicate reimbursement, reconcile payments, and meet applicable obligations.
Stripe handles payment details and creator verification, bank and payout information through its hosted services. LockItVault receives transaction references and statuses. Creators receive limited information for their own sales in the LockItVault creator dashboard, including masked buyer email, purchase and renewal status, paid-through dates, download permissions, and refund or dispute information. Purchases use direct charges on the creator's Stripe account, where the creator can access your full buyer email, any name, contact or billing details you provide to Stripe for that purchase, and limited payment information Stripe makes available. Private invitation prices and recipient details are protected from public pages.
A purchase does not subscribe the buyer to unrelated marketing. Retention, legal and dispute holds, and privacy requests follow the published commerce privacy policy and approved retention procedure; deletion does not erase mandatory evidence or outstanding prepaid access obligations.
